A question we get asked a lot here at NVNT® is “Is it really necessary to always condition hair?”
The answer is simple …. YES, it’s always necessary as the conditioning part of your cleansing process is there to do a multitude of different jobs!
The shampoo you use cleanses the hair, removing dust, grime and product build up whilst at the same time starting the process of looking after your specific hair type.
The conditioner, mask or treatment you use restores the missing moisture and proteins from your hair, these key components help give your hair body, volume, soft silky touch, strength and shine as well as rebuilding the internal structure and protecting the outer layer of your hair. That’s why conditioning is so important.
NVNT® has a range of conditioning products to look after your hair, Colour Protect Conditioner helps maintain your colour for longer, rebuild the structure and prevent breakage. Moisture conditioner helps detangle and repair hair without weighing it down. Volume Conditioner is weightless and strengthening for hair that needs more body and hold. Repair Conditioner revives and repairs damaged hair improving the softness and shine. Our SOS Hair Saver Mask can be used during technical services; colour etc, and it protects the scalp, nourishes the hair and reduces the smell of ammonia.
Are there any instances when conditioner doesn’t have to be used? Choice about usage is always down to the individual, however we recommend regular conditioning to help maintain hair, and scalp in optimum condition. If hair has a tendency to be oily our recommendation is not to apply conditioning products directly on the root area, apply from the mid lengths to the ends. if hair is very short and natural (No colour or chemical products) it may be okay to apply conditioning products every second or third shampoo. However, even virgin hair is susceptible to damage from the atmosphere and heated appliances.
Note: This blogger has very short, very fine, uncoloured hair but still uses Volume Conditioner every time.
The choice ultimately is yours, but here at NVNT® we advocate regular nourishment of your hair.
